As one of the lead designer I am responsible for the creative output across the iOS and Android apps as well as their online banking platform. I am involved in designing and directing new features within the app and all aspects of the design process. I was also involved in creating a design component library to be used across the app to help streamline the design process.
Completed at First Direct/HSBC as a contractor
I was responsible for delivering high quality UI/UX solutions for various features within the Barclays iOS and Android app. Working predominantly in 2 week sprints, I was involved with everything from creating wireframes, prototypes and user testing to the finer UI details such as micro interactions, typography and layouts.

Working with one of the most recognised denim brands and tasked with designing their first ever ecom website.
The website needed to work on many levels - It needed to keep the brands well established personality, be fully responsive and be a simple and easy process to purchase products.
Completed at RetroFuzz
Whilst at RetroFuzz I was tasked in creating a Match Centre for the Scottish FA, which was to be launched in time for the upcoming friendly against England in 2015. Using various archive videos of previous meeting I created a full screen video background to engage the user, whilst bringing the stats to life using infographics and bold typography.
Cloudwater Brew is a new micro brewery in Manchester making great seasonal beers. I was tasked with designing a fully responsive website which would stand out from the ever crowed micro brewery market.
A full screen photograph of their brand new set up makes for a very engaging homepage, this combined with subtle parallax effects really helps to gives the site a unique personality.
I personally love craft beer so it was great to work with this new upcoming brewery.
It was great to be tasked with designing a website for one of the most legendary bands of modern times. Taking influence form swiss minimal design I created this clean impactful and easy to use website.

Screen printing is something I've always been interested in, it's a great break from the computer screen and gives me the chance to get my hands dirty.
So last summer I enrolled on a screen printing course run by the brilliant One69A. It ran for 8 weeks and we were taught all elements involved in screen printing from the setting up to making our own screens.
The prints shown are a few of the ones which I produced whilst on the course.
"I assume your doing your own invites?"...a common question when I mentioned I was getting married. No pressure then!
Save the Date was the first printed piece which would be sent out and I wanted to keep it purely typographic. Having always been interested in typography I set out to create my own font. Invites and a seating plan also followed on the run up to the wedding.
All stationery was printed using the risograph technique giving a lovely screen printed feel on recycled stock.
Whilst a RetroFuzz we teamed up with the great Artcrank team who specialise in cycling inspired exhibitions and hosted our very own exhibition in Manchester. Being a massive cycling geek I jumped at the chance to be involved.
I wanted to keep the concept behind my poster local and Manchester based. Whilst researching for it I found a interesting article about a race which took place in Manchester in the late 1800's called the 6 day race. It's a mental concept in which the riders have 6 days to complete as many laps as possible riding day and night.
After using this as my concept for the piece I got to grips with the design. I love swiss inspired design and designers such as Joseph Muller Brockman so used this style as a starting point.
I was racking my brains to try and tie in the fact that people were riding at night, then I had a light bulb moment...some kind of glow in the dark ink. The second image shows what is visible in the dark which differs to the day.
I also designed the Artcrank t-shirt which was great. Overall it was a brilliant event with some excellent artwork on display.
Blue Note...what can you say about this legendary jazz label. They have some of the most recognised and talented artists on their books including Miles Davies and John Coltrane.
They wanted a Spotify app which would showcase all the artists and a feature which users could use to quickly and easily discover all that Blue Note has to offer. To make this more digestible the artists were separated into specific years and could be filter depending on particular instruments used in their records.
The app received many great reviews and was described by Billboard as 'dazzling'. Elements of the app were also used on the current Blue Note website

For 5 years Eastpak hosted a mini festival called the Antidote Tour. For the last one whilst at RetroFuzz I was in charge of designing all of the creative stationary, including posters, websites, stickers, flyers.
It was great to be in charge of all the creative from day one and observing the work in it's native environment around various cities.

Each year Eastpak bring together some of the most talented and creative minds from around the world to customise the iconic Eastapk Padded Pak'r. The results are stunning with all proceeds going to charity.
I was tasked with designing all printed elements of the campaign which included a diary which showcased all the artists, window display and flyers.
Completed at RetroFuzz
I have always had an intrest in motion graphics so when this project came in from Eastpak I jumped at the chance. Eastpak were having a New Years Eve Party and they wanted a cool countdown video. The talented Al Murphy did the illustrations and I brought them to life.
